经典图书 PhotoView 360 2010 Speculation
If you’ve been part of the community for a while you know spring is beta testing season and this means SolidWorks 2010 beta isn’t far away. My real interest in beta testing this year is to find out what new functionality has been added to . The list of enhancements I’d like to see is quite long and includes things like the ability to use your own HDRI images for lighting, custom back plates or background images, the ability to create and save custom materials, definable and savable camera views, camera depth of field, decal support, texturing control, network rendering, the ability to schedule renders and a definable floor plane. My list is actually quite a bit longer but this gives you an idea of what I’m looking for.
I’ve found a good place to speculate on what might actually be included is the Luxology web site. Luxology will be releasing Modo 401 soon and each week they reveal a different piece of new functionality to the world that will be included in Modo 401. The latest reveal is titled “” and for me it was like seeing PhotoView 360 on steroids. It appears to me (remember I’m a Modo newbie) as though the rendering in Modo 401 has adopted a lot of the PhotoView 360 ease of use and work flow. For me this is great because I can learn with the training wheels on so to speak and then move into more advanced techniques as I become comfortable with how Modo thinks. If you watch the videos at the reveal page you’ll notice a number of the items on my “PV 360 wish list” can be found in Modo 401. Does this mean we’ll also see them in PV360 soon?
This is the question that immediately comes to my mind. Lets think outside the box a bit and see if we can find an answer. As I understand it, Luxology actually spent a fair amount of time developing a software development frame work they call Nexus. The Nexus frame work is the heart of Modo and is also licensed to partners for development of custom applications such as PhotoView 360. If you’d like a great explanation of this from one of the founders and President of Luxolgy read this . So, essentially the same heart that pumps life into Modo also pumps life into PhotoView 360. To me this means both applications have access to the same tools and therefore can share the same functionality. Potentially everything we see on the Modo 401 “” reveal page could also be found in the next release of PhotoView 360. Will it happen? I don’t know, that’s why its called speculation. Here’s a little more speculation. Will the next release of PhotoView 360 keep the 360 or change to 460 in keeping with Modo naming history? What do you think? |
